I was delighted to finish up the year taking part in Draiocht Gallery’s Light Up Project. I created an etching to be projected on the outside walls of the gallery in Blanchardstown Dublin. An image of the etching was scanned in and we made a Vector Image of it. Glass plates were made over in Italy which were used to project the image onto the two walls beside the gallery. The Light Up project was realised in response to the pandemic, when galleries were closed, and sought to keep people connected and engaged with art, while we couldn’t be inside the space of the gallery. Many thanks to Emer, Dylan and all the team at Draoicht for inviting me to be part of this lovely project. The four-plate colour etching depicts a tiny group of houses, nestled on a precipice at the foot of a mountain, enjoying the warmth and glow of some Christmas Lights.
